I want organize site with page-images (html + file in gif format) of English rare books of the Bible. We have such site in Russian, his address is www.greeklatin.narod.ru . Host www.narod.ru very limit abroad visitors, so English books we want publish in abroad host.
In first we want publish English Hexapla of 1841 faximile.
The English "Hexapla" was printed in 1841 by Samuel Bagster and Sons of London, England. This wonderful resource of textual comparison is something no Christian's library should be without. Original rare printings of the 1841 Hexapla can sell for several thousand dollars. The English Hexapla Parallel New Testament has been called "a Bible collection in one volume."

Молодой человек, на моем сайте не было и нет нелицензионных материалов. Я выкладываю в Сеть и продаю на дисках отсканированные издания, вышедшие сто и более лет назад. Все они являются общественным достоянием (public domain).
На четырех страницах сайта стоял баннер с линком на сайт знакомого, на котором автор рапорта нашел нелицензионные материалы. Я поставил этот баннер пару месяцев назад по его просьбе, поскольку этот человек помогает мне в различных банковских вопросах, приему оплаты картами, etc, в чем я до его советов разбирался крайне слабо. В случае платного хостинга, предполагаю, претензий ко мне быть не могло. На моем сайте нет нелицензионных материалов, а ссылки я могу давать куда угодно. Однако на eome.net мы с Вами хостимся исключительно из милости его хозяина, у нас нет никаких прав, оговоренных юридическим договором. Поэтому я предпочел удалить баннер и известил об этом администратора. Аккаунт был разблокирован в течении часа.
Если у Вас естькакие-либо претензии или возражения моим действиям, я готов обсудить их здесь или в "Свободном общении".
В случае платного хостинга, предполагаю, претензий ко мне быть не могло.
К сожалению, это не так (в случае с нашим платным хостингом) — в данном случае произошло бы примерно то же самое. Разве что в случае с платным хостингом мы бы постарались известить вас за ~час до отключения в надежде, что вы сможете исправить проблему за это время и попытались бы как-то успокоить reporter-ов, попросить их потерпеть часик или два , но не более того.
Ссылки на нелегальный контент воспринимаются в США точно так же как и сам нелегальный контент (в детали не углубляюсь); за это (и вообще за любую нелегальную активность) реально отключают сервера, и делают это очень быстро — за считанные часы (а иногда и минуты).
Возможно, я кого-то удивлю, но я с такой политикой почти полностью согласен (за исключением некоторых моментов, важность которых мне, к сожалению, сложно оценить ). _________________ Дмитрий
